Been a science fiction fan since the latter 1950s...I was born in 1949...May not take out a whole bunch of books she recommends BUT would certainly like to take her out...My favorite writers are Clarke and Serlinging-anything Twilight Zone...also Anderson, Asimov, Bracket, Bradbury, Clement, Hamilton, Heinlein, Niven, Pohl, Steele, Vance, Williamson and Zelazny...Shame on me if I forgot someone like Le Guin and Orwell...

This was fun! I've been guilty of not giving good warnings like the puppy thing too. It seems the most popular booktube hosts don't edit much or do anything fancy (makes me want to stop trying haha). Being busy definitely affects most of your style but you roll with it effortlessly!

You're the only booktuber who's every video is a Must Watch for me. We have very similar likes and dislikes - and your reviews are exactly what I'm looking for: tone, setting, plot setup, technical execution and major takeaways. Exactly what I need to determine if a book is for me, and not so much that the experience of letting the book unfold is ruined. I don't mind the lack of whizzbang technical effects or artistry; I've usually got youtube going on a sidemonitor while I'm working on other monitors. Keep doing what you're doing, you're awesome.

Great video!! I once had very noticeable egg yoke in my beard on a video, so I had to laugh at the chocolate story.

None of the things you mention are a turn-offs for me, in fact quite the opposite. Some of my turn offs include: make up; annoying background music; frenzied editing; fry tones; exaggerated facial expressions; moving backgrounds (such as flicking light panels or animations); or RUclipsrs creating a whole mise-en-scène of themselves as readers (such as women sitting on couches wearing an oversized off-white wool sweater and holding a cup of tea.)

To be honest, you're a great booktuber and that you acknowledge the few mistakes you make makes you even better :P

2:25 i like this one, i have ADHD, i dont do scripts and such, i do have to take notes on the topic im gonna cover for my content so i dont go off course but do long as im reminds of said topics i go with the flow and make it up as i go.

Reminded me of the man who decided to be brutally honest with himself as he sat down to write a list of his faults and failings. After an hour all he had come up with was..."sometimes forget my hat"!

Your synopsis are perfect, you give enough information about what the book is about and without spoilers. Sometimes other BookTubers will mention something that might not be important to the plot but would still be more fun to find out while reading the book and for me that is a spoiler. So if it’s a book on my tbr or I know I will read soon I usually skip that part of the review, but I know I don’t have to worry about that with your reviews. I also don’t like hate rants, I have stopped watching some BookTubers because of that and it wasn’t like they were ranting on books I like, I just don’t like that kind of negativity. As for the rest of what you do “bad”, I find no issue with, your channel is all about the books and that is enjoyable to watch just as a much as the other more “fancier” channels.

You sound sooo much like myself! I could repost 2/3 of this video for things that I do wrong in mine! I am also a mom and only have time for very basic videos. My one year anniversary on BookTube is coming up in a month and this just might be the perfect tag!

I also loved Frozen Charlotte and the Elizabeth Frankenstein one. I really loved The Name of the Star series and Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson. A good folk horror is Small Favors by Erin Craig. Anything by Neal Shusterman.
